The project aims to bring health careers closer to the use of models and models of human development.
Professors Constanza Hernández, María José Garib and Rosario Lagos, all from the School of Obstetrics at the Universidad de los Andes seek to promote the study of embryology with the creation of models, 3D virtual models of human development and augmented reality of a fresh placenta. They will be able to do this thanks to the award of funds from the University's CIIMTA competition.
The project aims to bring health careers closer to the use of models and models of human development (placenta) which would also be digitized generating an immersive experience.
"It would be the first time that this technique is performed with this type of material not preserved in the anatomy department. Students of the Obstetrics career of the previous generation would be involved to make the models, with their corresponding tutoring by the teachers, promoting their knowledge and visions of the subject, which has never had assistants."says Constanza Hernandez.
The academic adds that "It should be noted that this material will remain in the anatomy laboratory of the University at the disposal of anyone who requires it.".
