The Latin American Federation of Obstetrics and Gynecology Societies (FLASOG) considers it a duty to honor the merits achieved by its members in medical practice, research and teaching, for the benefit of the development of Gynecology and Obstetrics in Latin America.

The Latin American Federation of Societies of Obstetrics and Gynecology (FLASOG), the highest regional organization of the specialty, recognized Dr. Enrique Oyarzun, academic of the School of Medicine and gynecologist of the Clínica Universidad de los Andes, with the distinction of "....Masters of Latin American Gynecology"The FLASOG Congress was recently held in San Pedro Sula, Honduras.

"This is undoubtedly a tremendous recognition, it is exciting, it is not something that one is expecting or wishing to receive. I had already received recognition as a Chilean teacher before and I sincerely did not expect to receive this tribute, but I am very grateful, especially because many have called me and made me feel that I have been more important in the formation of people and specialists than I thought I had been. And that is very gratifying because it gives meaning to a whole professional life."says Dr. Oyarzún.

The UANDES academic adds that "I have only thanks and not only to my peers, but especially to my family, and to Consuelo, my wife. She always made the greatest sacrifices so that I could do everything. And, of course, I always owe a lot to the Lord because I have been healthy and I have taken advantage of the opportunities I have received from Him.".
