Carolina Inostroza, academic of the School of Dentistry and researcher at Center for Biomedical Research and Innovation (CiiB)), is developing "InstaXYBloodT"The device will allow rapid detection of male or female hormones in human blood to improve the identification of people at gun crime scenes.
The development of this device will be made possible thanks to the award of funds from the National Research and Development Agency (ANID) of the Public Challenges Competition, call 2024, whose principal is the Investigative Police of Chile (PDI).
"This project will contribute to society by improving the quality of forensic investigation and increasing efficiency in solving crimes, which reduces investigation times and allows for faster administration of justice. It also increases public confidence in the judicial system and in the work of the PDI, helping to tackle crime with more effective methods.says Carolina Inostroza.
