The academic from the School of Psychology at Universidad de los Andes, Carolina Altimir, participated as an author in the book Qualitative Research in Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy in Latin America: Creativity for Studying Complex Objects in Context, a publication that brings together the work of outstanding researchers from different Latin American countries.
"The text is focused on the study of psychotherapy and mental health from a qualitative perspective but with a distinctive regional perspective, as it presents original works and the creative use of these methods to understand the complex phenomena of psychotherapy, change, therapeutic interaction, and the experience of illness, among others," says the academic from UANDES School of Psychology.
In the chapter "Qualitative Research on Psychotherapeutic Change in Latin America: In Search of Capturing Complexity,"Carolina Altimir addresses the importance of qualitative research in understanding the processes of change that occur during psychotherapy in the Latin American context.
The book launch took place at Universidad Diego Portales, where the master class "Descriptive-interpretative qualitative psychotherapy research" was given by the outstanding researcher Ladislav Timulak, an international reference in qualitative research in psychotherapy.
