{"id":6593,"date":"2025-10-08T15:47:50","date_gmt":"2025-10-08T18:47:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/investiga.uandes.cl\/?p=6593"},"modified":"2025-11-17T12:39:32","modified_gmt":"2025-11-17T15:39:32","slug":"estudio-revela-conexion-entre-salud-oral-y-diabetes-gestacional-durante-el-embarazo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/investiga.uandes.cl\/es\/estudio-revela-conexion-entre-salud-oral-y-diabetes-gestacional-durante-el-embarazo\/","title":{"rendered":"Estudio revela conexi\u00f3n entre salud oral y diabetes gestacional durante el embarazo"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Un equipo interdisciplinario e internacional de investigadores, liderado por\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/investigadores.uandes.cl\/es\/persons\/maria-luisa-mizgier\">Mar\u00eda Luisa Mizgier<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0acad\u00e9mica de la Facultad de Odontolog\u00eda, en el marco del Fondecyt de la profesora <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.uandes.cl\/personas\/alejandra-chaparro-padilla\/\">Alejandra Chaparro<\/a><\/strong>, desarroll\u00f3 un estudio que explora c\u00f3mo las ves\u00edculas extracelulares \u2014peque\u00f1as part\u00edculas liberadas por c\u00e9lulas y bacterias\u2014 presentes en el fluido crevicular gingival, el l\u00edquido que se encuentra entre la enc\u00eda y el diente, podr\u00edan relacionarse con la periodontitis y la diabetes gestacional en mujeres embarazadas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201c<strong>La investigaci\u00f3n analiz\u00f3 el contenido de estas ves\u00edculas para entender mejor c\u00f3mo podr\u00edan contribuir a la inflamaci\u00f3n, la regulaci\u00f3n de la glucosa y la respuesta a la insulina<\/strong>\u201d, explica la investigadora Mar\u00eda Luisa Mizgier, acad\u00e9mica de Odontolog\u00eda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El objetivo fue caracterizar las ves\u00edculas extracelulares de mujeres embarazadas con periodontitis y diabetes gestacional, en comparaci\u00f3n a mujeres embarazadas sanas, identificando mol\u00e9culas tanto de origen humano como bacteriano. Con ello se busc\u00f3 dilucidar posibles mecanismos biol\u00f3gicos que expliquen la conexi\u00f3n entre la salud periodontal y las alteraciones metab\u00f3licas en el embarazo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Los hallazgos muestran que la salud oral influye directamente en la salud materna y metab\u00f3lica. \u201c<strong>Este fluido de las enc\u00edas contiene se\u00f1ales que conectan la salud oral con el control de la glucosa en el embarazo, lo que abre la puerta a detectar riesgos de diabetes gestacional de forma sencilla y no invasiva<\/strong>\u201d, se\u00f1ala Mizgier. Seg\u00fan destac\u00f3, este an\u00e1lisis podr\u00eda facilitar diagn\u00f3sticos precoces y estrategias preventivas que integren la salud bucal y sist\u00e9mica, posicionando a la periodontitis como un factor de riesgo con impacto tanto materno como fetal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El estudio incluy\u00f3 a 104 mujeres embarazadas atendidas en el Centro de Salud San Bernardo (CESA) y en la Cl\u00ednica de la Universidad de los Andes.
