Mejorando la sobrevida y disminuyendo las secuelas neurol\u00f3gicas<\/strong>\u201d, es impulsado por un equipo de ingenieros y m\u00e9dicos, y busca entregar informaci\u00f3n en tiempo real que facilite la toma de decisiones cl\u00ednicas y mejore los resultados en pacientes que sufren paros cardiorrespiratorios.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El objetivo central de esta iniciativa es evaluar diversas variables fisiol\u00f3gicas durante la RCP para ofrecer datos precisos que optimicen las maniobras de reanimaci\u00f3n. La meta final: aumentar la tasa de sobrevida de los pacientes, no solo en t\u00e9rminos de supervivencia, sino tambi\u00e9n asegurando una recuperaci\u00f3n neurol\u00f3gica favorable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201c<strong>Los resultados actuales en reanimaci\u00f3n son preocupantes. La tasa de sobrevida en casos de paro extrahospitalario apenas alcanza el 10%, y solo la mitad de estos pacientes recupera funciones neurol\u00f3gicas adecuadas. Este proyecto busca cambiar ese panorama<\/strong>\u201d, explica la Dra. Marcela Garrido, directora del Departamento de Urgencia de la Facultad de Medicina de la Universidad de los Andes, quien lidera el proyecto.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Con una incidencia estimada de 13 paros extrahospitalarios diarios solo en la Regi\u00f3n Metropolitana, el impacto de este desarrollo tecnol\u00f3gico podr\u00eda ser significativo. \u201c<strong>Queremos entregar una herramienta que no solo asista a los profesionales en la reanimaci\u00f3n, sino que, al hacerlo, tambi\u00e9n aumente las posibilidades de recuperaci\u00f3n plena para los pacientes<\/strong>\u201d, comenta la Dra. Garrido.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El equipo que desarrollar\u00e1 este proyecto est\u00e1 conformado por Jorge G\u00f3mez, ingeniero electr\u00f3nico con doctorados en Ciencias de la Ingenier\u00eda y Filosof\u00eda en la Universidad Cat\u00f3lica de Chile y la Universidad de Notre Dame; Jos\u00e9 Delpiano, profesor de la Facultad de Ingenier\u00eda de la Universidad de los Andes; Diego Eyzaguirre, estudiante de ingenier\u00eda encargado del desarrollo t\u00e9cnico y algoritmos de Machine Learning; y Jhonson Castro, residente de medicina de urgencia que colaborar\u00e1 en la validaci\u00f3n del dispositivo en escenarios cl\u00ednicos reales y simulados.
