El 2024 fue un a\u00f1o de avances significativos para la Universidad de los Andes<\/a><\/strong>, con\u00a0hitos que destacaron en investigaci\u00f3n, innovaci\u00f3n y contribuci\u00f3n al desarrollo social y cient\u00edfico a nivel nacional e internacional.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

El\u00a0Centro IMPACT<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0lider\u00f3 un revolucionario\u00a0tratamiento para la osteoartritis<\/strong>, utilizando exosomas derivados de cord\u00f3n umbilical. La terapia mostr\u00f3 resultados prometedores en su primera paciente y se prepara para un ensayo cl\u00ednico de Fase I con 12 participantes. Por su parte, investigadores del\u00a0Centro de Investigaci\u00f3n e Innovaci\u00f3n Biom\u00e9dica,<\/strong>\u00a0CiiB<\/strong><\/a>, avanzaron en un\u00a0m\u00e9todo no invasivo para la detecci\u00f3n temprana del Alzheimer, combinando biolog\u00eda celular e inteligencia artificial.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

En el \u00e1mbito de la salud mental<\/strong>, un equipo interdisciplinario desarroll\u00f3 un examen de sangre para diagnosticar trastorno bipolar<\/strong>, mientras que el proyecto JAPI<\/a><\/strong>, centrado en un videojuego educativo, demostr\u00f3 su impacto positivo en el desarrollo cognitivo y emocional de ni\u00f1os en etapa preescolar.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

El acad\u00e9mico Jos\u00e9 Francisco Delpiano <\/strong>destac\u00f3 con su investigaci\u00f3n LENS<\/a><\/strong>, que utiliza inteligencia artificial para diagnosticar enfermedades de la piel de manera no invasiva<\/strong>. Adem\u00e1s, el Centro de Estudios Territoriales<\/a><\/strong> abord\u00f3 temas como sustentabilidad urbana y rural, integrando la relaci\u00f3n entre ecosistemas y h\u00e1bitat humano.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

La Facultad de Ciencias Econ\u00f3micas y Empresariales<\/a><\/strong> cre\u00f3 el\u00a0Human Development Lab<\/a><\/strong>, enfocado en influir en\u00a0pol\u00edticas p\u00fablicas relacionadas con educaci\u00f3n y desarrollo laboral.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

El proyecto Leer+<\/strong>, liderado por Pelusa Orellana<\/strong>, mejor\u00f3 su plataforma para fortalecer la comprensi\u00f3n lectora de los estudiantes mediante ejercicios personalizados.<\/strong> Adem\u00e1s, Marianela Navarro<\/strong> investig\u00f3 las razones detr\u00e1s de la baja representaci\u00f3n de hombres en la educaci\u00f3n b\u00e1sica<\/strong>, un tema clave ante el d\u00e9ficit docente en Chile.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Desde la Escuela de Psicolog\u00eda<\/a><\/strong>,\u00a0\u00c1lvaro Verg\u00e9s<\/strong>\u00a0inici\u00f3 un estudio longitudinal sobre la\u00a0relaci\u00f3n entre impulsividad, calidad del sue\u00f1o y desarrollo de sintomatolog\u00eda depresiva en j\u00f3venes adultos.\u00a0<\/strong>Por su parte,\u00a0Consuelo Araos<\/strong>, investigadora del\u00a0Centro Signos<\/a><\/strong>, investiga los desaf\u00edos de los j\u00f3venes de clases medias bajas en la formaci\u00f3n de hogares, aportando una visi\u00f3n sociol\u00f3gica sobre\u00a0cambios demogr\u00e1ficos en Santiago.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reconocimientos a nuestros acad\u00e9micos y estudiantes<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Durante este a\u00f1o, el profesor\u00a0Rodrigo Astroza<\/strong>, de la Facultad de Ingenier\u00eda y Ciencias Aplicadas<\/a><\/strong>, fue reconocido como\u00a0uno de los cient\u00edficos m\u00e1s citados a nivel mundial y galardonado como Ingeniero Estructural del A\u00f1o.\u00a0<\/strong>Asimismo,\u00a0Mar\u00eda Jes\u00fas Araya, estudiante de doctorado, obtuvo el primer lugar en el Congreso Internacional de Terapia G\u00e9nica y Celular; y el Dr. Fernando Figueroa Elizalde fue incorporado a la Academia Chilena de Medicina, destacando su trayectoria en inmunolog\u00eda y terapias celulares innovadoras.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

En el \u00e1mbito ambiental, el acad\u00e9mico Jos\u00e9 Francisco Delpiano<\/strong> desarroll\u00f3 ArboCensus<\/a><\/strong>, una aplicaci\u00f3n para censar \u00e1rboles urbanos con la colaboraci\u00f3n ciudadana<\/strong>. Adem\u00e1s, un equipo interdisciplinario liderado por Jos\u00e9 Ignacio Mart\u00ednez<\/strong> cre\u00f3 una herramienta computacional para mejorar la certeza jur\u00eddica en proyectos sujetos al Sistema de Evaluaci\u00f3n de Impacto Ambiental (SEIA).<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Compromiso con la sociedad<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

La Facultad de Odontolog\u00eda, en colaboraci\u00f3n con la Universidad de La Frontera, avanz\u00f3 en una\u00a0gu\u00eda cl\u00ednica para el diagn\u00f3stico y manejo del c\u00e1ncer oral<\/strong>, con respaldo del Ministerio de Salud, y en paralelo, Consuelo Cer\u00f3n, de la Facultad de Enfermer\u00eda<\/a><\/strong>, investig\u00f3 la implementaci\u00f3n de la\u00a0Enfermer\u00eda de Pr\u00e1ctica Avanzada en Chile, destacando su potencial para abordar necesidades cr\u00edticas en salud p\u00fablica.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

La Facultad de Comunicaci\u00f3n<\/a><\/strong> lider\u00f3 dos proyectos financiados por ANID, centrados en el\u00a0pluralismo informativo y el an\u00e1lisis de la desinformaci\u00f3n en elecciones<\/strong>, reafirmando el compromiso de UANDES con la calidad de la informaci\u00f3n y la democracia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Se culmin\u00f3 el a\u00f1o con la adjudicaci\u00f3n de\u00a013 proyectos Fondecyt de Iniciaci\u00f3n 2025,<\/strong>\u00a0con una tasa de adjudicaci\u00f3n de 40.6%. En la conovocatoria\u00a0Fondecyt Postdoctorado 2025, cinco proyectos patrocinados por la Universidad de los Andes<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0fueron seleccionados para adjudicaci\u00f3n, representando una tasa de adjudicaci\u00f3n de un 38,5%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
