The Institute of History held the presentation of the book,\u00a0The Great War: The perennial topicality of the First World War<\/strong><\/a><\/em>of the teacher Enrique Brahm Garc\u00eda<\/strong><\/a>published by Tirant. The event was held in Auditorium B of the Library building and was conducted by Professor Isidora Puga.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event included a discussion between the author and academics Francisco Javier Gonz\u00e1lez Err\u00e1zuriz<\/strong><\/a> e Ignacio de Solminihac Sierralta<\/strong><\/a>. Together, they reflected on the main contents and the contribution of this new publication, which seeks to offer a clear and concise vision of a decisive conflict of the 20th century, whose consequences continue to mark the current international scenario.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Throughout the book, Enrique Brahm combines historical analysis with the testimonies of protagonists \u2014from political and military leaders to soldiers and civilians\u2014 to review the main milestones of the conflict: the causes that led to its outbreak, its worldwide expansion, the economic and political impact, the most significant battles, the unexpected outcome in 1918, and the complex peace negotiations in Paris the following year.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
