The Universidad de los Andes (UANDES)<\/strong> <\/a>and the Chilean Food and Beverages Trade Association (AB Chile) <\/a><\/strong>signed a collaboration agreement that seeks to strengthen the development of public policies aimed at promoting sustainable and accessible food systems.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The alliance, signed by the Vice Rector of Research of UANDES, Javier Enrione<\/strong>,<\/a> and the President of AB Chile<\/a><\/strong>, Gonzalo Uriarte,<\/strong> establishes the commitment of both institutions to work together to promote scientific knowledge and the formulation of strategies that contribute to the country's sustainable development. <\/strong>The university<\/a><\/strong>, through its academic expertise and role as a higher education institution, will provide studies and analysis in the field of food sustainability.<\/strong> AB Chile, meanwhile, will disseminate industry initiatives, promoting efforts that support environmental protection, public health, and equitable socioeconomic development.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"This agreement consolidates an unprecedented academic-industrial alliance. We unite the scientific rigor of Universidad de los Andes<\/a><\/strong> with the experience of the productive sector represented by the companies that make up AB Chile. Together we will generate applied knowledge and evidence-based policy proposals. Our objective is to promote a more sustainable, healthy, and accessible food chain for all. In this way, we strengthen the sector's responsible competitiveness and contribute to the country's well-being,\" said Gonzalo Uriarte Herrera, President of AB Chile A.G.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this context, both parties agreed to create an Observatory on Public Policies for Sustainable Food. This space will generate evidence, coordinate efforts between academia and the productive sector, and propose recommendations to address global challenges such as climate change and inequality in access to adequate nutrition.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
