The Directorate of Innovation awarded the second call for BiCI Funds -Bidirectional Commitment in Innovation- in its category oriented to researchers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In this new call, the researchers Mat\u00edas Petersen, Mar\u00eda Consuelo San Mart\u00edn, Mar\u00eda Francisca Valenzuela from the School of Social Sciences, Ver\u00f3nica Vidal from the School of Medicine; and Ximena Farf\u00e1n from the School of Nursing and Midwifery were awarded the funds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Projects<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The Dean of the School of Social Sciences, Mat\u00edas Petersen, presented the project \"Shared Voices: Weaving the Past and Future of Mutual Societies in Chile.<\/strong>\" The novelty of this project lies in the development of a platform that allows the participatory rescue and preservation of the oral and documentary heritage of these organizations, facilitating the contribution of users through the uploading of documents, oral testimonies, and digital memories. This type of experience is new in Chile, but is inspired by a similar initiative being developed by the British Library.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Mar\u00eda Consuelo San Mart\u00edn, a researcher at the School of Social Sciences, was awarded the funds for her proposal,\"A Pathway to Inclusion: Addressing the mental health needs of people with intellectual disabilities.\"<\/strong>This project seeks to highlight the difficulties faced by this community in accessing mental health care, as well as the knowledge and practices of mental health professionals working with this community. The results of this project will contribute to the future training of mental health professionals and the development of accessible and adapted services for people with intellectual disabilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The director of the Center for Research and Innovation in Reading, CIIL, M. Francisca Valenzuela, presented the project,\"Solidarity Reading Clinic.\"<\/strong>This project is inspired by international initiatives of \"reading clinic\" in which teachers and students of education carry out practical experiences by diagnosing, planning, and tutoring real students within university campuses. This project will pilot a reading clinic in the districts of Las Condes and San Bernardo, with the participation of students of the Master's Degree in Psychopedagogy in order to evaluate the technical and financial feasibility of its establishment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Meanwhile, Ver\u00f3nica Vidal, a researcher at the School of Social Sciences, was awarded the funds with the project, \"Neurodiversity awareness program for school communities.\"<\/strong>This proposal seeks to develop and pilot a program in an educational establishment for raising awareness and adaptating educational environments for neurodiversity, in order to gather feedback, package it, and scale it to new educational establishments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Ximena Farf\u00e1n, a researcher at the School of Nursing and Midwifery, presented the proposal,\"Care Manual: Guidance and support for family members or volunteer caregivers of people at the end of life.\"<\/strong>The project seeks to develop a manual and a formal training program for volunteer caregivers of dependent persons, in collaboration with caregivers and palliative care professionals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The objective of this competition is to support applied research projects committed to society (R&Dc), i.e., that address problems or opportunities close to society and that are developed with the participation of the groups or territories involved, seeking to increase the possibilities of effectively impacting end users with the results obtained.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Mat\u00edas Petersen, Mar\u00eda Consuelo San Mart\u00edn, Mar\u00eda Francisca Valenzuela, Ver\u00f3nica Vidal, and Ximena Farf\u00e1n were the academics selected.<\/p>","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":5585,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"inline_featured_image":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[14,1],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-5584","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-innovacion","category-investigacion"],"yoast_head":"\n
