{"id":4343,"date":"2025-02-26T10:52:14","date_gmt":"2025-02-26T13:52:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/test.uandes.cl\/?p=4343"},"modified":"2025-02-27T09:29:27","modified_gmt":"2025-02-27T12:29:27","slug":"psychology-professor-investigates-how-adverse-childhood-experiences-impact-mental-health-in-adulthood","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/investiga.uandes.cl\/en\/psychology-professor-investigates-how-adverse-childhood-experiences-impact-mental-health-in-adulthood\/","title":{"rendered":"Psychology professor investigates how adverse childhood experiences impact mental health in adulthood"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Consuelo San Mart\u00edn, an academic from the School of Psychology, was awarded a Fondecyt Research Initiation 2025 grant, from the National Agency for Research and Development, which will allow her to investigate how adverse experiences during childhood impact our mental health in adulthood.<br><br>Her research entitled, \"<strong>The Invisible Footprints: Role of Associative Learning in the Relationship Between Adverse Childhood Experiences and Mental Health in Adulthood,<\/strong>\" seeks to understand how adverse experiences during childhood impact our mental health in adulthood, with a special focus on anxiety and depression.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><br>\"<strong>Through experiments, we will assess how these early experiences shape fear learning, avoidance behaviors, and the ability to experience well-being.
