The objective of the guideline is to provide the dental health care team with recommendations based on the best available scientific evidence for the detection, diagnosis and clinical management of oral cavity cancer.

Academicians from the School of Dentistry of the Universidad de los Andes and the School of Dentistry of the Universidad de La Frontera, Dr. Wilfredo Gonzalez and Dr. Carlos Zaror respectively, lead the project ".Clinical Practice Guideline (CPG) for the Detection, Diagnosis and Clinical Management of Oral Cavity Cancer."The project was awarded in the "Interdisciplinary and Associative Research Projects UANDES-UFRO 2023" contest, whose development will allow the elaboration of the new guide with the backing and methodological support of the Ministry of Health.

This alliance will bring together members of the Cancer Center of the Clínica Universidad de los Andes, UANDES School of Dentistry, Center for Research in Epidemiology, Economics and Oral Public Health (CIEESPO UFRO); and professionals from the Department of Health Technology Assessment and Evidence-Based Health, Department of Oral Health and the National Agency for Cancer Prevention and Control of the Ministry of Health.
