The UANDES Digital Law Journal is a scientific publication aimed at communicating advances in the fields of public and private law, philosophy of law, and history of law. It publishes research using both dogmatic-legal methodology and approaches from legal philosophy and historiography.
. UANDES Digital Law Journal has been officially indexed in Scopus, one of the world's leading databases of scientific literature. On June 11th, 2025, the members of the editorial team -Alejandro Miranda, Alfredo Sierra, and Manuel Grasso- received formal notification of acceptance, after having applied in November of the previous year.
Acceptance is based on the evaluation of the Scopus Content Selection & Advisory Board (CSAB), which highlighted both the quality of the published articles and their citation rates in other academic journals also indexed in Scopus.
"A lot of work has been done, done well, and done as a team," says the editor-in-chief and dean of the faculty, Alejandro Miranda. "This is a collective achievement of which we are very proud. The journal is a space for the dissemination of legal research and is at the service of the academic community, promoting an open dialogue aimed at the search for truth in this field of knowledge," he adds.
For his part, co-editor Alfredo Sierra highlighted the challenges that this milestone brings: "This indexing is the fruit of many years of work. We now seek to consolidate the position we have achieved and continue to improve in order to broaden the dissemination of legal knowledge".

"The recognition in Scopus is the result of the effort of many people; the journal embodies community and cooperation," emphasizes co-editor Manuel Grasso. "We are very excited about this achievement and motivated to continue working. For the University, this indexing represents increased visibility and impact of its scientific production. It also opens the door to attract researchers from all over the world, which in the long term will contribute to positioning UANDES as a reference in the generation of legal knowledge", he points out.
Scopus is a source-neutral database, and its content is selected by the CSAB, an international panel of independent experts. The inclusion of the UANDES Digital Law Journal in this index means that its articles are now part of a global network of high-standard academic research.
This milestone marks an important precedent: it is the first publication of the Universidad de los Andes to obtain this recognition.
