The topics of study of this center are related to early childhood, school education, technical-professional education, job training and higher education, among others.

The Faculty of Economics and Business Administration recently created the Human Development Lab (HD Lab)initiative that aims to to improve the effectiveness of training and increase development opportunities in Chile and the world, generating rigorous scientific evidence and contributing to public debate and the design of educational, labor and social policies.

"The HD Lab The project is the result of a joint reflection between academics from different faculties and authorities. UANDES on the contribution we can make to the public debate based on the research we are generating.. The University produces high quality research on relevant topics for the design and development of educational, labor and social policies, but this evidence does not always reach the hands of policy makers and relevant actors for the design of public policies. Faced with this situation we brought together academics from different faculties to contribute to the public debate," explains Andrés Barrios, director of the HD Lab.  

The topics of study of this center are related to the early childhood, school education, technical-vocational education, job training and higher educationamong others. "We want to facilitate collaborations between the members of the laboratory and foundations, public institutions and relevant actors, for the design of policies that contribute to expand the development opportunities of people and incorporate an interdisciplinary vision to the scientific work of the members of the laboratory," says Barrios.

The HD Lab is formed by a multidisciplinary team of researchers and professors from different faculties of our university. Researchers from the Faculty of Economics and Business Administrationof the School of Education and the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences.
