The Doctorate in Dental Sciences from the School of Dentistry at Universidad de los Andeshas been accredited for a maximum period of 3 yearsin its first evaluation, despite not yet having a graduating cohort.This is an important institutional milestone and recognizes the program's commitment to academic, scientific and training excellence.

"This achievement has been possible thanks to the collaborative and rigorous work of the entire university community, including professors, students, researchers, administrative staff and academic authorities, who actively participated in the various stages of the self-evaluation process and peer review. Their dedication, professionalism and conviction in the educational project were key to achieving this result," commented Marcela Oyarzún, Director of Postgraduate and Continuing Education at the School of Dentistry.

The accreditation will also allow the students in the program to apply for the ANID (National Agency for Research and Development) National Doctoral Scholarship, which is in addition to other financing alternatives that the University makes available to its doctoral students, reaffirming its institutional commitment to the development of research in dental sciences and the development of advanced human capital in Chile.

"This important step consolidates the position of the Doctorate in Dental Sciences in the field of oral health research at the national level and reaffirms the mission of Universidad de los Andes to actively contribute to the advancement of knowledge and the well-being of people," concludes Marcela.
