The Institute of History held the presentation of the book The Great War. The perennial topicality of the First World Warof the teacher Enrique Brahm Garcíapublished by Tirant. The activity was held in Auditorium B of the Library building and was conducted by Professor Isidora Puga.

The event included a discussion between the author and the academicians Francisco Javier González Errázuriz e Ignacio de Solminihac Sierralta. Together, they reflected on the main contents and the contribution of this new publication, which seeks to offer a clear and synthetic vision of a decisive conflict of the 20th century, whose consequences continue to mark the current international scenario.

Throughout the book, Enrique Brahm combines historical analysis with the testimonies of protagonists -from political and military leaders to soldiers and civilians- to review the main milestones of the conflict: the causes that led to its outbreak, its worldwide expansion, the economic and political impact, the most significant battles, the unexpected outcome in 1918 and the complex peace negotiations in Paris the following year.
