The team comprising by Marianela Navarro (leader), Annjeanette Martin and Alessandra Díaz, from the School of Education, along with Fabián Barrera, from the School of Psychology, was awarded a fund that aims to promote research in key areas of the University's institutional framework.

The project, titled "Late Vocations: challenges and teacher profiles in secondary education in the context of teacher shortages," was recently awarded the IAF Priority Thematic Areas Project (PTA) grant in its 2024 call for proposals.

The research seeks to generate current scientific evidence on the teacher shortage in secondary education, with a special focus on those who decide to enter the teaching profession at a later stage. The study will also explore the factors that influence this decision and analyze their intentions to either remain in, transition within, or leave the teaching profession.
